Garret Edwards es Abogado por la Universidad Nacional de Rosario (UNR ’12) con Diploma de Honor y Medalla de Oro de la Corte Suprema de Justicia de la Provincia de Santa Fe. Es Máster en Derecho (LL.M.) con Especialización en Derecho de la Propiedad Intelectual de The London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE 20/21), con promedio Merit y Distinction en la tesis. Asimismo, también es Profesor Universitario en Ciencias Jurídicas por la Universidad del Centro Educativo Latinoamericano (UCEL ’13), Diplomado Superior en Gestión Educativa (FLACSO ’13), Especialista en Gestión Educativa (FLACSO ’14), y Doctorando en Derecho (Ph.D.) por la Scuola Superiore Sant’Anna di Pisa (SSSA 22/25).
Como profesional liberal, ejerce la abogacía de manera ininterrumpida desde el año 2012, enfocándose principalmente en el asesoramiento legal de empresas e instituciones educativas. En dicho rol ha asesorado, por ejemplo, al Mercado Argentino de Valores S.A., único mercado argentino especialista en financiamiento para las empresas PyMEs y productos no estandarizados, a Rosario Valores S.A., el broker-dealer más importante de la Argentina, a Daminato Viajes y Cambios S.A., la casa de cambios más antigua del país, a Calatayud, una empresa con más de 60 años en la venta de electrodomésticos, y a la Escuela de Enfermería del Hospital Italiano Rosario, una institución señera de la región en el ámbito de la educación y la salud.
Es Director de Investigaciones Jurídicas de Fundación Libertad. A su vez, es Profesor de Posgrado de Liberalismo y Cartas de Derechos en la Maestría en Derechos Humanos de la Universidad Francisco Marroquín (UFM, Guatemala), Profesor Adjunto de Filosofía del Derecho en las sedes de Rosario y de Venado Tuerto de UCEL, Profesor Adscripto de Derecho Político de UNR, y Profesor Titular de múltiples asignaturas en instituciones educativas de Nivel Superior, como Gestión del Talento Humano y Técnica Previsional. Por su parte, se desempeñó como Vicepresidente del Instituto de Mercados de Valores del Colegio de Abogados de Rosario (COLABRO) durante la presidencia del mentado instituto por parte del Dr. Fernando Luciani (2017-2018).
Conductor y columnista especializado de diversos ciclos televisivos y radiales, fue conductor, junto a Adriano Mandolesi, de “Tal y Cual” (2019-2023) por CNN Radio Rosario (FM 89.5), y columnista en “El Regreso” (2014-2023), del Dr. Walter Castro, y continúa en el rol de analista político en “Con Sentido Común”, de Marcelo Fernández, por la misma emisora. Acompaña además a Marcelo Fernández en “Así Estamos“, su programa semanal en TELEFE Rosario (Paramount) y en Somos Rosario de Flow (ex-Cablevisión), e hizo lo propio junto a Cecilia Casabonne en Pantalla Completa (2022) por la misma señal, y cuenta con sendas columnas en la revista y portal digital ON24, en el diario La Capital y en Infobae. Durante la cuarentena de 2020/21 arrancó con “La Inquietud”, una propuesta multiformato y su primer proyecto solista en medios, que puede disfrutarse por CNN Radio Rosario, YouTube y Spotify. Conduce, por su parte, “Tertulia Libertad”, el programa online de Fundación Libertad que se transmite por streaming vía YouTube, y antes condujo “Fase 1”, un producto de similares características, junto a Alejandro Bongiovanni. También se ha desempeñado como analista político en “Rosario Directo”, por Canal 5 de Rosario, del Grupo TELEFE-VIACOM/CBS. En el pasado, ha sido conductor de programas tales como “PBI” (Proponiendo Buena Información), y de “A Fondo”, el programa de Fundación Libertad por LT8 (AM 830), a la par de Gerardo Bongiovanni, entre otros espacios radiales.
Habitualmente escribe y publica en múltiples medios locales, nacionales e internacionales, tanto artículos científicos como de divulgación, y ha dictado conferencias en la Argentina y en el exterior. En ese sentido, fue Smith Fellow de Atlas Network (Washington, D.C., EE.UU., 2018), Visiting Scholar del American Institute for Economic Research – AIER (Great Barrington, MA, EE.UU., 2019-20 y 2021), egresado de la Theodor-Heuss-Akademie de la Fundación Friedrich Naumann (Gummersbach, Alemania, 2019), disertante en el Instituto Juan de Mariana (Madrid, España, 2015), expositor invitado en la Universidad Francisco Marroquín – UFM (Ciudad de Guatemala, Guatemala, 2016), y conferenciante en múltiples coloquios de Liberty Fund (Indianápolis, IN, EE.UU.). Ha resultado ganador, junto a Walter Castro, de una mención de honor en el 16to. Concurso de Ensayo de Caminos de la Libertad (México), y de otra mención de honor del Premio Itaú Cuento Digital por su cuento “Laberínticos”. A más de ello, es miembro de la International Adam Smith Society (IASS) y miembro fundador de la Cátedra Pontón.
Garret Edwards is a lawyer graduated from the National University of Rosario (UNR '12) with a Diploma of Honor and a Gold Medal from the Supreme Court of Justice of the Province of Santa Fe. He holds a Master of Laws (LL.M.) with a specialism in Intellectual Property Law from The London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE '20/'21), achieving an overall average of Merit and a Distinction in his thesis. Additionally, he is a University Professor in Legal Sciences from the University of the Latin American Educational Center (UCEL '13), has a Higher Diploma in Educational Management (FLACSO '13), is a Specialist in Educational Management (FLACSO '14), and is currently pursuing a Doctorate in Law (Ph.D.) at the Scuola Superiore Sant'Anna di Pisa (SSSA '22/'25).
As a legal professional, he has been practicing law continuously since 2012, primarily focusing on providing legal counsel to companies and educational institutions. In this role, he has advised notable entities such as Mercado Argentino de Valores S.A., the sole Argentine market specializing in financing for SMEs and non-standardized products, Rosario Valores S.A., the most significant broker-dealer in Argentina, Daminato Viajes y Cambios S.A., the oldest exchange agency in the country, Calatayud, a company with over 60 years in the sale of electrical appliances, and the School of Nursing of the Italian Rosario Hospital, a leading institution in the region in the fields of education and health.
He currently serves as the Director of Legal Research at Fundación Libertad. Additionally, he is an Associate Professor of Philosophy of Law at the Rosario and Venado Tuerto campuses of UCEL, an Adjunct Professor of Political Law at UNR, and a Full Professor of various subjects at Higher Level educational institutions, including Talent Management and Social Security. Moreover, he held the position of Vice President of the Institute of Securities Markets of the Rosario Bar Association (COLABRO) during the presidency of Dr. Fernando Luciani (2017-2018).
As a host and specialized columnist in various television and radio programs, he co-hosted "Tal y Cual" (2019-2023) on CNN Radio Rosario (FM 89.5) alongside Adriano Mandolesi. He continues to contribute as a columnist on "El Regreso" with Dr. Walter Castro and on "Con Sentido Común" with Marcelo Fernández, both on the same station. Additionally, he accompanies Marcelo Fernández on "Así Estamos," his weekly TV show on TELEFE Rosario (Paramount), and on Flow's Somos Rosario (formerly Cablevisión). He also joined Cecilia Casabonne on Pantalla Completa for the same channel and contributes columns to the magazine and digital portal ON24, the newspaper La Capital, and Infobae. During the 2020/21 quarantine, he launched "La Inquietud," a multi-format show and his first solo project in the media, available on CNN Radio Rosario, YouTube, and Spotify. Moreover, he hosts "Tertulia Libertad," the online show of Fundación Libertad streamed via YouTube. Previously, he led "Fase 1," alongside Alejandro Bongiovanni. Additionally, he worked as a political analyst on "Rosario Directo" on Channel 5 of Rosario, part of the TELEFE-VIACOM/CBS Group. In the past, he hosted shows such as "PBI" (Proponiendo Buena Información) and "A Fondo," Fundación Libertad's show on LT8 (AM 830), alongside Gerardo Bongiovanni.
He regularly writes and publishes in multiple local, national, and international media, contributing both scientific and general audience articles. He has also delivered conferences in Argentina and abroad. In this regard, he was a Smith Fellow of the Atlas Network (Washington, D.C., USA, 2018), a Visiting Scholar at the American Institute for Economic Research – AIER (Great Barrington, MA, USA, 2019-20 and 2021), a graduate of the Theodor-Heuss-Akademie of the Friedrich Naumann Foundation (Gummersbach, Germany, 2019), a lecturer at the Juan de Mariana Institute (Madrid, Spain, 2015), a guest speaker at the Francisco Marroquín University – UFM (Guatemala City, Guatemala, 2016), and a speaker at multiple Liberty Fund colloquia (Indianapolis, IN, USA). He, along with Walter Castro, received an honorable mention in the 16th Caminos de la Libertad Essay Contest (Mexico), and he earned another honorable mention from the Itaú Cuento Digital Award for his short story "Laberínticos." Furthermore, he is a member of the International Adam Smith Society (IASS) and a founding member of the Cátedra Pontón.
